Badgers unable to spark momentum in first B1G road test
COLLEGE PARK, Md - The Wisconsin women's basketball team (9-4, 1-1 B1G) dropped 59-97 to the No. 7 Maryland Terrapins (14-0, 2-0 B1G) on Monday afternoon.Â
Destiny Howell led the Badgers with 14 points, shooting 5-for-14 from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. Kyrah Daniels added 10 points, while Shay Bollin chipped in nine points and a team-high five rebounds.
How it happened
First Quarter
Maryland set the tone early, opening the game on a 16–0 run as Wisconsin struggled to find offensive rhythm. The Badgers trailed 29–8 after ten minutes of play.  Wisconsin continued to battle but couldn't close the gap before halftime. Maryland extended its advantage behind balanced scoring and took a 43–18 lead into the break.
Second Quarter
The Badgers showed renewed energy out of halftime, scoring 22 points in the third quarter — their highest-scoring period of the game. Daniels knocked down a pair of three-pointers, and Gift Uchenna added four points in the paint as Wisconsin cut into the deficit. Wisconsin closed the game with its strongest shooting stretch, connecting on 41 percent from the field in the final frame. Howell scored 10 of her 14 points in the second half, and Jovana Spasovski added six points on 3-for-4 shooting. Maryland maintained control throughout and secured the 97–59 victory.
As a team the Badgers shot 30.3% (20-66) from the field, 17.9% (5-28) from the three point line and 82.4% (14-17) from the charity stripe.Â

• Kyrah Daniels knocked down two three-pointers and finished with 10 points, marking her 11th double-figure outing of the season.
• Destiny Howell surpassed 400 career rebounds.
