No. 2 Bruins best Badgers

Williams leads the Badgers with 22 points

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team fell to No. 2 UCLA, 91-61, in the final home game of the regular season on Wednesday night at the Kohl Center.

Serah Williams led UW (13-15, 4-13) with 22 points, for her fourteenth game of the season with 20+ points. The junior went 8-15 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line, while adding five rebounds and one steal. Ronnie Porter chipped in with 13 points and three assists.

The Badgers shot 38.3% from the field as a team and finished with 31 rebounds.

Sophomore Carter McCray led the Badger squad with nine rebounds, including six of them on the offensive end.

The Bruins (28-1, 16-1) went 37-67 (55.2%) from the field, while going 10-25 (40.0%) from behind the three-point arc.

How it Happened:
Porter got the Badgers on the board with a jumper in the paint. UCLA took the lead after that with an and-one, and they didn't lose the lead from there. UW stayed within striking distance, bringing it back within one (8-7) with two Williams' free throws. But the Bruins distanced themselves with a 22-12 lead at the end of the first.

The second quarter got off to a hot shooting start, as UCLA opened it with a three and Tess Myers responded with a three of her own. Freshman Allie Bisballe kept it going with her first-career three-pointer to put the Badgers within 13 (35-22). The Bruins maintained a substantive lead heading into halftime, ahead 45-28.

UCLA sank five threes in the third quarter as they pulled ahead to take a 30-point lead. The Badgers could not recover in the fourth quarter, ultimately falling 91-31.

Up Next:
The Badgers will conclude the regular season at Iowa on Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m. CT. The game will be aired on Peacock and fans can listen on 1070 The Game.
