Serah Williams named to 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List

The 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year earns national recognition
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's basketball standout Serah Williams has been named to the 2025 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List, presented by Molecule, announced by the Naismith Awards on Feb. 5.

The 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year anchors the Badgers' defense, averaging 10.7 rebounds per game, including an 8.0 average on the defensive end. Williams ranks second in the Big Ten with 2.4 blocks per game and is second all-time at Wisconsin with 195 career blocks.
Her dominance as a two-way player can't be overlooked, ranking second in the Big Ten with 19.1 points per game. Her season highlights include a 29-point, 12-rebound effort against Wright State, a 36-point, 14-rebound performance at Butler, and 28 points with 12 rebounds against UAlbany.
