OKLAHOMA CITY. OKLA. - The Wisconsin softball team (18-10, 2-2) dropped its game against Purdue this Thursday, 9-1 in six innings. The contest is the first of a four-game neutral site conference series held at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.

Wisconsin fell behind the Boilermakers early, giving up two first-inning runs off an error, hit-by-pitch, and single.

A four-run fifth inning that saw Purdue go through its lineup allowed the Boilermakers to separate themselves for good, before the team scored two more runs in the sixth inning to end the game via the run-rule.

The Badgers committed four errors in the game, letting Purdue extend innings and keep runners on base. Of the Badger's nine runs allowed, only three were earned.

Hilary Blomberg provided the only score for Wisconsin, blasting a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. 

Gabi Salo collected the loss, going 4.1 innings and giving up three earned runs. Freshmen Jordan Felci and Mattie Beliveau each pitched in relief.


Batting Cleanup

• Hilary Blomberg hit her team-leading fifth home run on the season. Blomberg is on a six-game hitting streak, hitting 11-for-23 with three home runs and a double in that span.
• Kendra Lewis extended her hitting streak to seven games, going 1-for-3 in the game. The reigning Big Ten player of the week is, coincidentally, 11-for-23 with three home runs and a double during her hitting streak as well.
• Emily Bojan went 1-for-1 with a double and a walk.
