MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's tennis team fell to a strong Indiana squad Friday evening under the lights. The Badgers came out of the gates hot, claiming the doubles point in front of an impressive home crowd. Indiana took singles wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to seal the match victory. 

The Badgers set the tone in doubles action with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 slots. The combination of Matthew Fullerton and Edouard Aubert cruised to a 6-1 victory against Indiana's Braeden Gelletich and Ben Pomeranets. Indiana took the match at No. 1 doubles, but Patrik Meszaros and Michael Minasyan secured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory in the No. 2 spot. 

Freshman Patrik Meszaros put on a show at No. 2 singles, defeating Indiana's Ben Pomeranets in straight sets. Indiana would go on to win at No. 4 and No. 3 singles to tie the match at 2-all.

Junior Michael Minasyan's comeback effort fell short at No. 1 singles. After winning the second set 6-1, Minasyan could not hold off Indiana's Jip van Assendelft in the final frame. Indiana sealed the match with a straight set victory in the No. 5 slot. 

Wisconsin is now 2-5 in Big Ten play and 8-7 overall. 

Up Next: Wisconsin will return to Nielsen Sunday afternoon for a match against No. 52 Purdue. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m. and admission is free for fans.
