Lindeman turns in season best in hammer throw

PHILADELPHIA - The Wisconsin women's track and field program put together multiple noteworthy performances at a pair of meets on Friday, led by the likes of Chloe Lindeman in the hammer throw and the distance medley relay squad at the Penn Relays.

DMR enters UW top-10 at Penn Relays

The distance medley relay unit of Emma Kelley, Emma Kruse, Mya Bunke and Leané Willemse accounted for the 10th-fastest DMR ever in UW's Outdoor track history at the Penn Relays on Friday. The combination of runners turned in a time of 11 minutes, 16.40 seconds and placed eighth overall amongst a strong field.

That same unit also ranks at No. 6 in UW's all-time Indoor Track list in the DMR,  a mark attained during the Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Throwers all finish top-5 at Texas Invitational

The aforementioned Lindeman led the Badgers from the jump at the Texas Invitational on Friday, as the Fulton, Illinois native earned her farthest mark of the season at 218-1 (66.47m) to tally a first-place finish in the hammer throw. She only sits just over three feet away from breaking her own  school record.

Lindeman was joined by Morgan Flaska, who competed unattached and placed third overall in the hammer throw—finishing with a mark of 171-1 (52.14m).

Zonica Lindeque continued her stellar outdoor campaign, notching her third personal best in the shot  put, as she bested her previous mark with a heave of 53-0 ¼ (16.16m) to remain at No. 7 all-time in UW's Outdoor Track history. Lindeque placed fifth, continuing to excel in the outdoor season.

Taylor Kesner turned in a top-five finish in the javelin with a toss of 150-8 (45.92m) to take fourth.

Up Next: The Badgers wrap up a busy slate by competing in both the Penn Relays and the Fighting Illini Twilight tomorrow afternoon. At Franklin Field, the women's 4x1500 meter relay will race, as they broke a school record this time last year. In Illinois, Maddie Hogan is set to take on multiple events, and will be joined by pole vaulters Julia Moore and Joscelyn Dieckman
