Lewis and Jacobson earn postseason honors
MADISON, Wis. – Kendra Lewis and Molly Jacobson were named to the 2025 NFCA Great Lakes All-Region teams, announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Thursday afternoon.
For a second-straight week, freshman Kendra Lewis has earned post-season honors. Lewis was named NFCA Great Lakes All-Region First Team. She becomes just the 10th Badger to earn First Team All-Region honors. Also earning All-Region accolades is graduate pitcher Molly Jacobson. The grad transfer earned All-Region Third Team honors for the first time in her career, as well.
Designated and utility player, Kendra Lewis recorded one of the best Badger freshman campaigns in program history. Lewis primarily served as a DP/Utility, seeing time in the circle and the outfield. Lewis slashed and led the team with a .408 batting average, .650 slugging percentage, .442 on-base percentage, and totaled a 1.092 OPS. In 43 appearances, she also totaled four doubles, two triples, and 39 RBI. The Milan, Illinois native wrote her name in numerous records, a total of 16 categories, both in single season and freshman records. Lewis earned All-Big Ten First Team and All-Freshman Team honors, as well.
Plagued by injuries while at Virginia Tech, Jacobson made the most of her final season with the Badgers. In 34 appearances in the circle, the grad transfer finished with a career-best 12-6 record, recorded a 3.64 ERA, and tallied four complete games. The Waukee, Iowa native played a key role for the Badgers down the stretch, owning a 5-3 record in 10 appearances with a 3.93 ERA in the final 15 games of the season.
