1. SEE YOU NEXT TIME: Wisconsin comes off a seventh-place finish at annual Badger Invitational, hosting the three-day event at their very own University Ridge Golf Course.Â
"It's always an honor to host our Badger Invitational. I want to thank the staff at U-Ridge for all they do," head coach Todd Oehrlein said. "The team has plenty to continue improving on, and I'm excited to get back out there with them this weekend in Oklahoma."
Bucky took seventh overall, led by junior Kate Brody who earned a 16th-place finish after shooting a 73 in all three rounds. Lauren Sammon was close behind Brody, earning her first career top-20 finish at 19th, shooting +5 overall.Â
2. RISING UP: True freshman Elyssa Abdullah is set to make her first career start in the UW lineup Saturday. She shined in her collegiate debut, competing individually last week at the Badger Invitational. The Illinois native began the final-round at +6, but shot a -1, 71, on Tuesday to rise 15 spots and finish 19th.
3. CONSISTENCY IS KEY: The experienced senior group of Alexia Siehl and Tammy Wu continued to keep it rolling this past weekend, each notching top-40 finishes at 28th, and 35th, respectively. Wu, who earned 21st at the opening wolverine invitational, grabbed her second top-30 of the season, finishing at +7 overall. Siehl finished a stroke behind Wu at +8.
4. SIEHL'S SCHOONER SUCCESS: Siehl and Brody both competed for the Badgers at the Schooner Fall Classic last season. Siehl had her season-best 18-hole round at 70, while Brody tallied a 71 in Round 1. Due to inclement weather, only two rounds were counted and the Badgers finished 9th overall.Â
5. LEAVES ARE CHANGING: UW takes next weekend off before heading into their final two tournaments of the fall season. The Badgers will first head down I-90 to the Medinah Country Club for the Illini Invitational on Oct. 6, hosted by Big Ten foe Illinois. The team follows that up on Oct. 13 with its final event of 2025, a trip down to Tulsa for the Dale McNamara Invitational. Each will be two-day tournaments, playing 36-holes on the opening day.Â
