MADISON, Wis. — Sophomore swimmer Maggie Wanezek and junior diver Julia Herring of the Wisconsin women's swim and dive team have been named to the 2025-26 Big Ten Women's Swimmers and Divers to Watch List, announced by the conference Tuesday.
In her second season with the Badgers, Wanezek is looking to build on a successful freshman campaign. Last season, Wanezek was named 2025 Freshman All-Big Ten, 2025 Second Team All-Big Ten and two-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
At the Texas Invitational in November, the then-freshman set a school record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:35.04 before breaking the 400 IM record with a 3:28.51 at the Big Ten Championships.
Herring, a transfer from the University of Alabama, joins the Badgers with a successful resume. In high school, Herring collected three consecutive state championship wins in the 1-meter and came home with gold in the 100 free her senior year.
In her freshman campaign at Alabama, Herring earned an NCAA zone cut with a score of 225.90 on platform against West Florida. Herring also notched a season-best 251.63 on the 3-meter board also against West Florida and a season-best 244.70 on the 1-meter board against Florida State and LSU.
The Badgers will begin their 2025-26 season on Friday, Sept. 26 at home against Green Bay.
