
Five things to know: Badgers host Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational Presented by Under Armour

21 of the NCAA’s top teams will be in attendance
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational Presented by Under Armour returns for its 17th iteration on Friday at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
The women's 6K "A" race will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the men's 8K "A" race following at 11:10 a.m. The women's 6K "B" race will start at 11:50 a.m., and the men's 8K "B" race will wrap up the meet at 12:30 p.m.

There is no spectator parking at the cross country course or University Ridge. Spectator parking will be located at Reddan Soccer Park. Reddan Soccer Park is located in northern Verona off Cross Country Road. A map of the parking layout can be found here. Free spectator shuttles are available for transportation to the course. One accessible shuttle will be available. The shuttle service begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes one hour after the final race has finished. Fans are encouraged to arrive early so they don't miss any of the action. Parking is not allowed on County Highway PD or County Highway M near the Zimmer Course. Any vehicle violating this will be subject to ticket and tow at the owner's expense.
1. NATIONAL STAGE: The No. 12 Badgers will face their toughest field of the season prior to the NCAA Championship meet, with 21 of the top 30 USTFCCCA teams in attendance. Wisconsin enters the meet as the second-ranked Big Ten team at No. 12 in the nation, followed closely by No. 13 Washington and No. 18 Michigan State. The meet also includes multiple top-10 teams, including No. 1 New Mexico and No. 2 Iowa State.
2. LAST TIME OUT: Wisconsin placed ninth at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Sept. 25. The Badgers defeated Big Ten rival Washington in their second meeting of the season. Archie Noakes led the team in 23 minutes, 3.8 seconds, placing 10th overall. Micah Wilson followed, finishing 15th in 23:11.7.
3. ASSEMBLING THE PIECES: The Badgers have yet to race all of their top runners at the same time. Johnny Livingstone, Christian de Vaal, Grady Lenn and Liam Newhart competed at the John McNichols Invitational, while Archie Noakes, Micah Wilson and Manny Putz raced at the Sean Earl Invitational.
4. A LOOK BACK: Wisconsin finished 9th at the 16th Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational in a highly competitive field. Liam Newhart was the Badgers' top finisher at 16th, completing the course in 23:37.2. Matan Ivri finished second for Wisconsin, crossing the finish line in 23:51.0.
5. UP NEXT: The Badgers will return to Thomas Zimmer Championship Course for the kickoff of their postseason schedule, as they will host the Big Ten Championships on Friday, Oct. 30. The last time Wisconsin hosted the Big Ten Championships was in 2023, when Bob Liking won in 23:48.6 and the Cardinal and White claimed the team title.
