Badgers take 11th at Westbrook Invitational

Stricker paces UW in 21st
PEORIA, Ariz. — The Wisconsin women's golf team finished 11th at -2 at the Westbrook Invitational, firing 10-under on Monday at the Westbrook Golf Course in Peoria, Arizona.
The Badgers played 36-holes on Sunday, and teed off the final round Monday. It's the 15-straight year UW has hosted the Westbrook.
Izzi Stricker led the Badgers with her second top-25 of the year, finishing 21st at -4. She matched a career-low 68 (-4), notching seven birdies on the day. The Madison native finished Round 1 at +3, before firing 69 to head into the clubhouse at even-par on Monday. She holed out on the Par 4, 13th-hole, for an eagle to spark a -4 back-nine, ultimately finishing her final 27 holes at eight-under.
Tammy Wu finished 48th at +1 after putting together two even-par rounds on Day 1. She made the second most pars in the field. True freshman Grace Slocum followed Wu in 49th at +2, ripping off two 71s in the event. Her power off the tee proved to be an advantage, accumulating the fourth-best Par 5 average at -7.Â
Junior Kate Brody finished 50th after ripping off a 68 on Monday, tallying five birdies and only one bogey. She scored in the second round on Sunday for UW, finishing at +3 for the tournament. Alexia Siehl also scored in two of UW's rounds, recording a 71 on Monday, going -1 on the card in the final-nine to get under-par. She finished in 63rd after a 73 (+1) on Monday.Â
Competing individually, true freshman Elyssa Abdullah posted a final-round 73, and Day 1 pair of 74s to land in 59th. Sophomore Lauren Sammon came in 73rd on the back of a second-round 73 (+1), where she yielded zero bogeys on the final 12 holes.Â
