Badgers return to the UW Field House after three straight road duals
MADISON, Wis. - Wisconsin wrestling returns to the UW Field House this weekend after a three-dual road stretch, hosting Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. The matchup will stream on B1G+ as the Badgers continue Big Ten action on their home mat.
1. The Last Time Out
Wisconsin wrestling split its most recent road slate, opening with a tough 30–10 loss at No. 2 Ohio State. The Badgers stayed competitive early with strong wins from Nicolar Rivera and Luke Mechler, and Joseph Zargo delivered a standout performance with a sudden-victory takedown to upset No. 4 Ethan Stiles at 149 pounds.
Wisconsin closed out its road stretch with a 30–12 win at Purdue. Wyatt Ingham and Braxton Amos each earned technical falls in the upper weights to help pad the Badgers' scoring, while Luke Condon turned his bout at 174 around for a pin, the first fall of his season, and Mechler added another decision in the middle of the lineup to keep Wisconsin rolling.
2. Scouting the HoosiersÂ
Indiana enters the matchup after a road dual at No. 10 Illinois, where the Hoosiers battled through a Big Ten test. Indiana has shown strength and experience across its lineup, led by veteran heavyweight Graham Rooks and Jacob Moran in the middle weights. In the all-time series between the programs, Wisconsin holds the edge 34–24, with the last meeting coming in the 2019–20 season.
