Erlandson paces UW in 25th
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Wisconsin men's golf team finished 13th in the Hoosier Collegiate on Sunday at the Pfau Course in Bloomington, Indiana. UW carded a +57 on the grueling Par 71 course.
Charles Erlandson (24th) and Jason Shwartz (30th) led UW, finishing at +11 and +13. Shwartz fired the fourth-lowest secod round in the field, shooting a 69 (-2) to build momentum. Erlandson also capitalized on yesterday's second-18, shooting a one-under, 70.
Senior Spencer Turtz finished 52nd at +16 after a Round 1 73 (+2). Grad student Jacob Beckman came in 67th opening round 72 (+1). He played the first round's back-nine at -2, getting back on course from some early bogeys.
Sophomore William Harned scored for UW two rounds, and placed 78th at +27. Competing individually, true freshman Vijay Kumar took 70th at +21.
Up Next: The Badgers await the Big Ten Tournament at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, Oregon. The tournament runs from May 1-3.
