Softball to Face Familiar Opponent in B1G Tournament

Badgers earn No. 7 seed in tournament
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team earned the No. 7 seed to the 2026 Big Ten Tournament and will take on the No. 10 seed Purdue Boilermakers. The Badgers First Round will be played Wednesday, May 6 at 4:30 pm ET at the Maryland Softball Stadium in College Park, Maryland.
Wisconsin (30-18, 14-10) played Purdue (34-19, 11-13) earlier this season where the Badgers took 2-of-3 over the Boilermakers. Wisconsin earned the first two wins of the series, including Wisconsin's second-largest comeback in program history in game to, erasing a 6-0 deficit, in game two. Prior to falling in the final game of the series, the Badgers had won nine-consecutive games against Purdue at Bittinger Stadium dating back to the 2017 season.
The winner of Wisconsin and Purdue plays the No. 2 seed in Oregon on Thursday, May 7.
The Badgers will make its 15th Big Ten Tournament appearance, and clinched a berth into this year's tournament last weekend with a series sweep over Minnesota. The Badgers are 13-16 overall in the tournament, and last won the tournament in 2013, defeating Minnesota, 9-3.
