James Rodgers is in his second season as an analyst with the Wisconsin football program in 2021, working with the Badgers’ offense.
Rodgers came to Madison after previously serving as director of player development at his alma mater, Oregon State, in 2018 and 2019.
He also served a stint as an assistant coach with the San Antonio Commanders of the short-lived Alliance of American Football in 2019.
Rodgers began his post-playing career as a recruiting assistant at Nebraska and then served as the Huskers’ director of player development in 2017.
Rodgers starred as a wide receiver and special teams contributor at Oregon State, finishing as the school’s career leader in all-purpose yards (6,373). Rodgers caught 222 passes for 2,578 yards and 19 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,410 yards and another nine TDs on the ground. He was twice named first-team All-Pac-10, once as a receiver and once as a punt returner.
He went on to spend two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and another two years with Montreal of the Canadian Football League.
A native of Richmond, Texas, Rodgers graduated from Oregon State with a degree in communications in 2010.Â
