Biography
2017-18 (Senior): Sat seven seat with the second varsity eight for the majority of the season... helped the Badgers to a first place finish over Stanford and Oregon State at the Stanford Invitational... rowed seven seat in the race against BU/MIT... placed second in the race against Northeastern... raced with the first varsity eight at the 2018 IRA National Championships, sitting in the two seat and racing to a sixth place finish in the petite final with a time of six minutes, 42 seconds... member of the 2018 Big Ten All Academic Team
2016-17 (Junior): Raced to a first-place finish at the Stanford Invite with the varsity eight in April … sat seven seat with the second varsity eight that placed second against Boston/MIT at the Cochrane/Jablonic Cup … won the Congram Cup with the second varsity eight, beating Northeastern with a time of 5 minutes, 40.3 seconds … placed third with the second varsity eight at the Eastern Sprints in May … rowed with the second varsity eight that placed 13th overall at the IRA National Championships
2015-16 (Sophomore): Sat seven seat for the fourth varsity eight that place first in the petite final at the Eastern Sprints in May before helping the varsity four to a fifth place finish in the grand final at the IRA National Championships in June... rowed with the varsity eight against Minnesota and MSOE, taking a first place finish... sat three seat with the varsity four that placed second against Minnesota and MSOE... took a first-place finish at the Devil's Lake Dual with the fourth varsity eight in April.
2014-2015 (Freshman): Rowed twice for the varsity four that finished fourth at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships and third behind MSOE and MIT at the Devil’s Lake Challenge…competed in the lightweight varsity four that finished seventh at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships…raced twice in the second freshmen eight  and once for the third freshmen eight.
Personal: Parents are Scott and Shawn Butler … has one brother, Sam … has one sister, Lauren … major is economics and political science
High School: Graduated from Central Catholic High School … participated in soccer for one year … won three letters in rowing.
