Biography
2017-18 (Senior): Sat four seat in the fifth varsity eight that placed first against Minnesota on April 28
2015-16 (Sophomore): Raced with the varsity eight and the lightweight four against Minnesota and MSOE, placing first with each boat... helped the varsity four to fourth place at the Devil's Lake Dual... competed with a four at Head of the Eagle in the fall.
2014-15 (Freshman): Sat two seat in the freshmen eight that finished second at the Head of Huron, competing against Illinois, Michigan and Michigan State…Raced twice for the third freshmen eight at the Devil’s Lake Challenge.
Personal: Parents are Dave and Joan Sachs … has one brother, Karl … major is civil engineering.
High School: Graduated from Seymour High School … four year letter winner in cross country … two year letter winner in track … two year letter winner in golf.
Reasons for choosing UW-Madison: "I was interested in being on the rowing team, Madison is a great engineering school, and both of my parents had a great experience here."
What Wisconsin rowing means to you: "It is an opportunity for me to represent the University, and a way to challenge myself to be the best I can be. It has taught me skills that I can apply to my entire life to help me be successful in all aspects of life. These skills include time-management, teambuilding, communication, etc. Rowing has taught me what hard work is and what it means to fully devote yourself to something."
