2020-21 (Senior): Rowed six seat with second varsity eight and took first place at Marietta College (April 3)
2019-20 (Junior): Rowed four seat with second varsity eight and took 14th place in the first round and then eighth place in the second at Princeton Chase (Oct. 27)
2018-19 (Sophomore): Rowed four seat with third varsity eight and placed 11th at IRA National Championships...rowed one seat with third varsity eight and placed tenth at Eastern Sprints...rowed six seat with third varsity eight at Stanford Invitational...rowed four seat with second varsity eight against Syracuse...rowed one seat with varsity eight and took first at Bald Eagle Invitational, and rowed one seat with second varsity four...rowed three seat with third varsity eight and took 18th at Princeton Chase, and rowed one seat with fourth varsity four and finished 23rd at Princeton Chase
2017-18 (Freshman): Rowed seven seat in the novice eight at the North Star Regatta and again rowed with the novice eight at the Bald Eagle Invite, sitting bow and helping the Badgers to a first place finish with a time of 14 minutes and 21 seconds... also rowed with the novice four at the Bald Eagle Invite, sitting two seat... sat two seat in the novice four vs. Minnesota and MSOEÂ (April 28, 2018)
High School:Â Played football, basketball, wrestled and rowed ... competed at the IRA National championships in 2019 ... received Gold Medal at the US Rowing National Championship in the Men's Intermediate 8+ ... competed internationally at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

Reason for choosing UW-Madison:Â My brother was on the team at the time and it seemed like it would be a good fit for me while allowing me to get tougher and develop my rowing abilities
What Wisconsin Rowing means to Matthew: Wisconsin rowing has given me some of the greatest experiences of my life and brought me closer to a group of guys than I ever could have hoped. It has also allowed me grow as an individual and become a tougher and more resilient person that is able to face adversity better
