Lori Murphy

Lori Murphy is in her fifth season as the Badgers' program assistant. She is in charge of handling the team and coaches' expense reports while assisting with travel and recruiting.

Entering her 23rd season at UW, Murphy served as the assistant women's golf coach for 16 years from 1994-2010. She aided the Badgers to their first trip to the NCAA championship in 2003. Murphy also served as an assistant with the Wisconsin men's golf team for nine seasons.

Noted for her organizational abilities and knowledge of golf, Murphy served as the director of the highly successful 1998 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship held at University Ridge Golf Course.

A former member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association tour, Murphy competed professionally from 1982-84. She also competed on the Women's Professional Golf Association mini-tour from 1981-82. She was the tournament director for the Wisconsin PGA for five years and is a Class A member of the PGA.

A four-year letterwinner in golf at the University of Texas, Murphy graduated with honors in 1980 with a degree in interior design.

Murphy (formerly Huxhold) is a native of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, and won the 1979 Wisconsin State Amateur title. She and her husband Michael live in Middleton and are the parents of Sean (24) and Kelsey (21).
