Tanner Barnes enters his first season as Digital Content Coordinator for the Wisconsin women’s basketball program in 2023-24. Responsible for the program’s overall brand, Barnes manages @BadgerWBB content, strategy, and messaging with designated brand communication staff and brand manager. He also works closely on recruiting for the program.

Before coming to Madison, Barnes spent the previous five years as a Videographer and Creative Director for HokieVision. While in this role he produced sports media material for social, in venue and network outlooks. Program specific, he was lead videographer and editor for the women’s soccer and baseball teams at Virginia Tech. In addition to his time at Tech, he was a videography and editing intern with Little League International in the Summer of 2022 where he facilitated operations and preparations for the world’s largest youth international baseball tournament.
A native of Richmond, VA, Barnes graduated from Virginia Tech in 2023 with his M.A. in Education, Instructional Design & Technology. He received his B.A. in Sports Media & Analytics with a cognate of global management from Virginia Tech in 2021.
