MADISON, Wis. -- The volleyball Badgers weren't able to continue their momentum from Friday's match, falling to No. 15 Michigan (20-4, 9-3) on Saturday night in four sets. Despite a third-set comeback, Wisconsin (14-9, 3-9) fell to the Wolverines, 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-10.

Michigan out-attacked the Badgers 62-49 with a .234 hitting percentage in comparison to the Badger's .179. The Wolverines also led with four service aces and 65 digs as the Badgers finished with two aces and 60 digs. Wisconsin showed it's biggest improvement of the season in the blocks category, tallying a season high 13.5 blocks to record five more than the Wolverines.

For the fourth match in a row, Allison Wack led the Badgers with a team-high 13 kills. Julie Mikaelsen finished with 11 putaways of her own and hit .310. Alexis Mitchell and Elle Ohlander added eight kills apiece on the night with Ohlander leading the Badgers at .412. 

Mikaelsen, Ohlander and Janelle Gabrielsen each had a match-high five blocks in the loss. Gabrielsen also recorded 43 assists.

Kim Kuzma led three Badgers with double-digit digs as she tallied a team-high 18. Gabrielsen and Annemarie Hickey both had 11 saves.

Michigan's Alex Hunt finished with a match-high 20 kills and three service aces on the night. Claire McElheny finished close behind with 16 kills and Jennifer Cross chipped in 10 putaways for the Wolverines. Lexi Zimmerman made a match-high 49 assists and tied with Courtney Fletcher for a team-high four blocks. Sloane Donhoff led all players with 19 digs

Michigan came out strong against the Badgers, grabbing an early 4-1 lead in the first set. Mikaelsen led the Badger charge as Wisconsin tied the set at five. The set remained close with 11 ties, including at 14-14. Michigan led 17-16 when it went on a 4-0 run to take a 21-17 lead.  UW answered back with a 3-0 run, at 23-17 but it was too little too late as Michigan won the set 25-20.

The second set started off close with three ties early until Michigan was able to take an 11-7 with two big kills from Hunt. The Wolverines led by at least two points until the Badgers rallied to tie the score at 19. A Wack kill tied the score at 20 and Wisconsin led 21-20 off a kill from Elise Walch. The Wolverines tied the set at 21 and outscored the Badgers 4-1 to take a two set lead.

Wisconsin didn't let the first two sets keep them down as it started the third set with a 5-2 run. Wisconsin upped its lead to 11-6 with a 4-1. Michigan answered back to tie the set at 22 off a McElheny kill. A kill from Wack and a block by  

Walch and Ohlander gave the Badgers set point 24-22. Gabrielsen finished the set off with a block solo for the 25-22 win to force the match to a fourth set.

The Wolverines came out strong in the fourth set, taking a 7-0 lead and increasing their advantage to 15-5. Wisconsin slowly made its way back into the set, pulling within four (20-16) but that was as close as it would get as Michigan took the set 25-19. 

The Badgers travel to sixth-ranked Illinois on Wednesday for a match live on the Big Ten Network. Wisconsin wraps up its split week of play with a match at No. 24 Northwestern on Nov. 6.
