MADISON, Wis. – The start looked the same, but the finish was much different.
For the second consecutive game, the No. 11 Badgers jumped to an 8-0 lead. However, unlike Tuesday night, Wisconsin (19-6, 9-4) didn’t let the advantage slip from its grasp Saturday, rolling to a dominating 83-55 win over Indiana (9-15, 3-9). That was in stark contrast to Tuesday, when Illinois rallied back to steal a win at the Kohl Center.

Jason Bohannon and Trevon Hughes – who tallied their 100th career win at Wisconsin Saturday – were the catalysts early and often for Wisconsin.
Bohannon finished with a career-high 30 points, impressing Alando Tucker and Marcus Landry who were sitting in the front row behind the bench. Bohannon’s point barrage was UW’s first 30-point game since Tucker had 32 against Pittsburgh on Dec. 16, 2006.
Bohannon, who is fourth in UW history with 200 career 3-point field goals, would tie a school record against Indiana, becoming the 10th Badger in UW history to knock down seven 3-pointers in a game.
Hughes had 12 points early, helping UW out to a 22-5 advantage just 6:25 into the game. Wisconsin didn’t take its foot off the pedal, burying five of its first seven 3-pointers, including three from Bohannon.
Back-to-back lay-ups from Hughes would swell the UW lead to 28 at 46-18 with 3:32 remaining in the first half. IU would score the final four points of the frame as the Badgers took a 46-24 lead into intermission, recording their second-highest point total in a half for the season.
If there was any question whether or not UW would lose intensity after a lop-sided first half, it was answered on the first possession. After a near turnover, Taylor zipped a pass to Keaton Nankivil on the baseline for a two-handed dunk.
The Wisconsin lead would increase to 67-36 midway through the second half when Bohannon knocked down three consecutive 3-pointers. Just minutes later, Bohannon hit his seventh trey of the night to give the Badgers a game-high 35-point lead with 6:30 remaining. Bohannon would score 14 points of a UW 18-3 run that put the game out of reach.
The Badgers shot 50.8 percent from the field and also doubled Indiana in points in the paint, 32-16, while notching 29 points off 21 Hoosier turnovers. UW also tied its season-high total of 15 offensive boards, outrebounding IU 33-26.
Saturday’s win marks UW’s largest margin of victory in a Big Ten game since its 29-point, 74-45, defeat over Northwestern on Jan. 7, 2009.
UW will hit the road next Thursday to take on the Gophers at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. on ESPN.
