COLUMBUS, OHIO – Competing in their final event before next weekend’s Big Ten Championships, the Badgers placed 10th at the Robert Kepler Intercollegaite. Wisconsin shot a 317-299-300=916 at the event, held at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course.
Illinois and Kent State tied for the tournament title with a 5-over par 857. The Illini shot a 294-283-280=857, while Kent State carded a 291=286=280=857. Ohio State (860) finished third, followed by Iowa (872) and Minnesota (885).
The individual competition also finished in a tie between Illinois and Kent State. Illinois Luke Guthrie and Kent State’s John Hahn each shot a 3-under par 210 to tie for the lead.
Stephane Dubois led Badger golfers. He shot a 6-over par 79-70-70=219 to finish tied for 14th.
Thomas Welk and Christopher Meyer each tied for 42nd place. Both golfers recorded a 16-over par 229.
Robert Jacobsen carded an 82-80-80=242, good for 62nd place. Anthony Aicher finished 63rd, shooting a 85-77-82=244.
The Badgers next head to the Big Ten Championships April 28-May 1, hosted by Purdue, at Kampen Golf Course, in West Lafayette, Ind.
