CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three hits equaled three runs and started an offensive burst for the Badgers Saturday evening in an 8-0 win over Presbyterian at the First Pitch Classic in Charlotte, N.C.
Katie Christner started things for Wisconsin (3-1) in the third inning with a single to left field. Maria Van Abel followed with a perfect bunt for a base hit, setting the table for Mary Massei. With one swing, Massei got the Badgers on the board with a three-run home run to center field.

Wisconsin doubled its score in fourth inning scoring three runs on four hits to go ahead 6-0. Two more runs in the fifth inning gave the Badgers the 8-0 win.
Taylor-Paige Stewart earned the win in her first career start. Stewart pitched all five innings, allowing just three hits, striking out five and walking one.
Massei finished the day 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored and four RBI. Christner made the most of her day, going 3-for-3, scoring two runs and recording three RBI.
Wisconsin wraps up action at the First Pitch Classic on Sunday morning against Notre Dame at 9 a.m. CT.
