KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Unable to shake some cold shooting, the Badgers just couldn't shake the Rebels, either.
A No. 12 seed, Ole Miss made the most of the Badgers' shooting woes in the second half, pulling away down the stretch to upset the fifth-seeded Badgers, 57-46, Friday in a second-round NCAA tournament matchup at the Sprint Center.
Wisconsin (23-12) managed to connect on just 25 percent of its attempts from the floor, including a 1-for-14 stretch to close the game.
It added up to the Badgers' first opening-game exit from the tournament since 2006 -- and just the second one-and-done showing for UW in head coach Bo Ryan's 12 seasons at the helm.

Ole Miss, meanwhile, found a bit of offensive rhythm late after largely being stifled by the Badgers' defense.
Marshall Henderson keyed the Rebels' closing argument with 17 second-half points, helping Ole Miss finish on a 15-5 run over the game's final six minutes.
"To me, it seemed like the game changed and our guys didn't react as well as they did," Ryan said. "We're not built to play from behind."
The Badgers led by six points on three different occasions, but a 9-0 run for Ole Miss (27-8) put the Rebels out front with just under 8:30 to play and never looked back.
"We had looks and we had chances to pull away," UW freshman Sam Dekker said. "Credit them, they hit some big shots."
Dekker led the way for the Badgers with a team-high 14 points. He was the only UW player to crack double-figures, with sophomore Traevon Jackson and senior Jared Berggren both finishing with eight points.
"Once they got on a run, they started feeling it and we didn't do a good job to stop their run," Berggren said of the Rebels.
