Badgers look to knock off a streaking Buckeyes team unbeaten in its last eight
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team resumes Big Ten play with a road trip to face Ohio State in Columbus on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT. Coming off a dramatic victory in double overtime on the road against Saint Louis on Wednesday, the Badgers look to win back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
The challenge of playing on the road has become something the Badgers (3-8-2, 1-1-2 Big Ten) have embraced, as all three of the team's victories this year have come in unfriendly confines.
That includes a 2-1 win on Wednesday vs. Saint Louis, which was highlighted by a golden goal in double overtime from St. Louis native Tom Barlow. Not to be overshadowed was Christopher Mueller, who not only tallied the game-tying goal in the second half, but also set up Barlow with the game-winning assist on a corner kick.
Mueller leads Wisconsin this season in both points (11) and goals (4). Barlow is tied for second on the team in points with eight on three goals and two assists. Mark Segbers, a fellow sophomore forward from St. Louis, is tied with Barlow on two goals and four assists.
Sunday will provide a great test for the Badgers, as Ohio State is unbeaten in its last eight matches. The Buckeyes (7-4-2, 2-1-1 Big Ten) are looking to set a program record and earn their seventh straight win.
The match against Ohio State will be streamed live on Buckeye Vision ($). Fans can also follow along with live stats or follow on Twitter (@BadgerMSoccer).
