MADISON, Wis. — Senior running back Corey Clement and junior left tackle Ryan Ramczyk were named first-team All-Big Ten, the conference announced Wednesday. Ramczyk was a consensus first-team choice by the league's coaches and media, while Clement earned first-team honors from the coaches and second-team accolades from the media.
Ramczyk, a transfer from UW-Stevens Point in his first season playing for UW, has started every game this season at left tackle. He has been a big part of the Badgers' running game, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten at 201.5 yards per game. Over the last seven games, Wisconsin has averaged 230.0 yards per game on the ground.
Clement currently ranks second in the Big Ten, averaging 103.6 rushing yards per game. His 271 carries pace the conference and his 13 rushing touchdowns ranks third in the league. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in six of the last seven games.
Junior tight end Troy Fumagalli and sophomore right guard Beau Benzschawel were both named second-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and third team by the media. Fumagalli ranks second on the Badgers with 38 catches for 467 yards, while Benzschawel has started every game at right guard this season.
Sophomore center Michael Deiter and junior wide receiver Jazz Peavy were both consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten choices. Deiter has started every game this season, eight at center and four at left guard. Peavy is the Badgers' leading receiver, having caught 39 passes for 582 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 17 rushes for 263 yards.
In all, a total of 17 players earned All-Big Ten honors, including four named to the first-team. Head coach Paul Chryst was also named the Hayes-Schembechler Big Ten Coach of the Year.
