Wajda earns fourth top-25 finish at Hoosier Collegiate

Badgers placed 13th with a 29-over 605 in weather-shortend tourney

COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Badgers improved in the final 18 holes of the weather-shortened Hooiser Intercollgiate at Otter Creek Golf Course shooting five shots better on Sunday than the opening day of finishing with at 13th with a 29-over 605.
The Badgers (+29, 305-300=605) placed one stroke behind 12th-place Toledo (+28, 301-303=604), while Loyola – Maryland (+24, 296-304=600) ended five shots ahead of UW.
Purdue (+2, 291-287=578) and Miami (Ohio) (+2, 297-281=587) tied for the tournament crown at a 2-over 578, followed by Xavier (+4, 299-281=580) in third.
In-state rival Marquette (+11, 293-294=587) placed fourth with an 11-over 287 and Northern Illinois (+12, 300-288=588) rounded out the top five at 12-over. Patrick Flavin of Miami (Ohio) was first on the player leaderboard, shooting an even 72 in Round 1 and a 4-under 68 on Sunday.
For the fourth-straight tournament this spring, Eddie Wajda III (+4, 75-73=148) was Wisconsin's best golfer. The sophomore improved from Round 1 to Round 2, netting a 4-over 148 to tie for 23rd. Wajda's placement marked his team-leading fourth top-25 finish of the season.
In a knot for 36th was Michael Abrahamson (+6, 75-75=150), who registered identical 3-over 75s in each round to finish at 6-over.
One shot back of Abrahamson, Jordan Hahn (+7, 76-75=151) went for a 7-over 151 which placed him in a tie for 42nd.
Matt Ross went for a two-round total of 158 in his second event of the spring. The output tied the senior for 69th.
