NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Wisconsin women's tennis team wrapped up play Sunday during the third day at the June Stewart Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee. Wisconsin went 2-4 in singles and 1-2 in doubles on the final day.
Throughout the three-day tournament, the Badgers finished with a 7-11 singles record and a mark of 3-6 in doubles play.
Sunday brought victory to freshman
MaryAnn Rompf and sophomore
Michelle Linden in singles. Rompf flew by Olivia Thaler of William & Mary, 6-2, 6-2. Linden and Cecily Wuenscher, also from William & Mary, split the first two sets, 6-2, 5-7, before the Linden won the third set, 10-7.

Melissa Pick and
Kelsey Grambeau all dropped their singles matches to William & Mary women on Sunday.
In doubles, Rompf and Castellano were beaten 6-3 by a Princeton pair. Grambeau and Zordani were also knocked off, 6-3 from a Princeton duo. Picking up the sole, doubles victory Sunday was the pair of Keberle and Pick, winning 6-2 against Princeton.
Up next: The women's tennis team travels east to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the Harvard Fall Invite.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a day one shutout in doubles competition, Wisconsin women's tennis bounced back Saturday by picking up two of three doubles matches against William & Mary at the June Stewart Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
In singles, the Badgers ended 2-4 on the second day.
MaryAnn Rompf and
Sara Castellano paired up and easily handled a William & Mary duo, 6-1.
Kelsey Grambeau and
Christina Zordani also notched a victory, 6-2, also versus a William & Mary pair. The third Wisconsin doubles pair,
Melissa Pick and
Lexi Keberle, was beaten by William & Mary's Rosie Chang and Lauren Goodman, 6-2.
Wisconsin singles fought hard Saturday, ultimately losing three matches to Vanderbilt players and one to Lipscomb. Keberle continued her successful fall by taking down Amanda Meyer, 6-4, 6-0. She is 2-0 on the weekend.
Sophomore
Melissa Pick also notched her second win in as many days, outlasting Lauren Gish of Vanderbilt, 6-3, 7-5.
Castellano was beaten in three sets by Emma Kurtz of Vanderbilt, 2-6, 6-2, 6-4. Summer Dvorak, also from Vanderbilt, went three sets against Rompf for the victory, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5.
Emily Smith from Vanderbilt beat Grambeau, 6-0, 7-6, losing the tiebreaker 10-3. Kateryna Popova from Lipscomb went three sets with Linden, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Wisconsin is back in action Sunday, taking on William & Mary in singles and Princeton in doubles.

Keberle battled back to defeat Katrine Steffensen, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5, in her first match. Castellano outlasted Nicole Kalhorn, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3. Pick beat Sara Goodwin, all from Princeton, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

In doubles play Wisconsin failed to pick up a victory versus Vanderbilt duos. Castellano and Rompf were defeated 6-2. Keberle, pairing up with Zordani, was beaten 6-1. The duo of Linden and Pick were shutout, 6-0.
