MADISON, Wis. -- Six different Badgers found the back of the net as the No. 1 Wisconsin women's hockey team routed No. 4 Ohio State, 7-0, in front of a sellout crowd at LaBahn Arena Saturday afternoon. 

In the opening minutes of the first period, the Wisconsin (13-0-0, 7-0-0-0 WCHA) duo of senior Baylee Wellhausen and sophomore Abby Roque struck as Roque slotted a pass across center ice to Wellhausen, who nailed it past OSU (7-1-1, 5-1-1-1 WCHA) goaltender Kassidy Sauve to put the Badgers up 1-0.  

Just under four minutes later, sophomore Presley Norby cut her way through traffic and buried the puck in the back of the OSU net to give Wisconsin a 2-0 lead. 

Roque notched a goal of her own on a 5-on-3 power play to round out first-period scoring for the Badgers. 

After a quiet second frame, sophomores Maddie Rowe and Alexis Mauermann and junior Sam Cogan lit the lamp in the third period to propel the Badgers to a decisive 7-0 victory over the Buckeyes. 

Play of the game:
UW took a commanding 3-0 lead midway through the first period thanks to a Roque rocket on a 5-on-3 power play. It marked Roque's fifth goal of the year and her sixth power-play point. 

Three notes of the game: 
The Badgers' defense held Ohio State to just one shot on goal in the first period, outshooting the Buckeyes, 20-1, in the first stanza.

Kristen Campbell earned her third-straight win against a ranked team and her first career shutout against a ranked foe. The sophomore stopped all 14 shots she encountered to earn her fourth shutout of the year. 

Thirteen different Badgers recorded a point in the game, including Delaney Drake, who tallied her first career point as a Badger.

On the balanced scoring:
"That's a good thing. Everybody at every level of hockey is looking for people to score. You're going up against one of the best goaltenders in the country, so how are we going to be able to do that? We got a fast start, we put them on their heels to start the game. It sets up for the next four to eight minutes, and we just kept getting better in a lot of different areas."

On not taking any penalties 
"We talked about discipline, and there are a lot of avenues you can go when you talk about discipline. Obviously, you try to stay out of the box, and if you try to eliminate that, not try to retaliate or do those things, and then there's discipline as far as back checking, and there's discipline about a lot of parts of the game, so from start to finish it was pretty good today."

On the fast start:
"We definitely were listening. That was something we reiterated all week. We came out fast, we were all over them right away getting those shots off and it was nice being able to score a goal right off the bat. We knew that that would shut them down and we'd get in their face and they wouldn't be able to play the game they're used to."

Sophomore Alexis Mauermann 
On the third period:
"I think we're just hungry to win and finish the game strong. It all just comes from the will and discipline that we have and we took that into the third period and fought to win. We were just hungrier."
