MADISON, Wis. – The top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team hits the road this Friday and Saturday for a battle at No. 7 Cornell. Both games at Lynah Rink are slated to start at 2 p.m. CT.

Fans can follow the game on Twitter (@BadgerWHockey) and check UWBadgers.com following each game for a recap.

1. AWARD-WINNING DUO: Sophomores Alexis Mauermann and Kristen Campbell received league honors after leading the Badgers to a series sweep of No. 5 Ohio State last weekend. Mauermann was named the WCHA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after a spectacular four-point weekend where the forward notched two goals in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Buckeyes before adding a goal and an assist in Sunday's 3-1 win at LaBahn Arena. The award marks Mauermann's first of the season.

Campbell earned her third WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honor following a dominant showing in the net against Ohio State. The sophomore, who has been stellar all season for the Badgers, shut down the Buckeye offense last weekend, saving 35 of 36 shots and allowing just one goal in 120 minutes on the ice. Leading the WCHA in both save percentage and goals-against average last week, Campbell also received the NCAA first star for her performance in the series.

2. WISCONSIN VS. ECAC: While this weekend's series marks just the third and fourth meetings between the Badgers and the Big Red, Wisconsin is no new face in the ECAC. In 39 previous meetings with teams from the ECAC, the Badgers boast a 29-8-2 all-time record.

3. OH THE PLACES YOU'LL GO: This weekend's trip to Ithaca, New York marks the 43rd different city the Badgers will have traveled to since the program began in 1999. In the nearly 20 years since the team's inaugural season, Wisconsin has visited places in every region of the United States and has played games in every time zone in the continental U.S.

4. ALL TOGETHER NOW: Wisconsin's offense has been lethal in its 2017-18 campaign thanks to an incredible team effort. Eighteen different Badgers have tallied points so far this season, and six skaters have already recorded double-digit points for Wisconsin. Combined, the Badgers have outscored their competition 53-13 through 14 games this year.

5. SCOUTING THE BIG RED: Cornell is currently ranked third in the ECAC with a record of 3-1-0 and has played 10 fewer games than the Badgers. This weekend's series marks the first non-conference matchup for the Big Red, who sport the country's best penalty kill percentage with a .929 clip.

Sophomores Kristin O'Neill and Jamie Bourbonnais, Cornell's top returning goal scorers, have made an early impact for the Big Red in the 2016-17 season, combining for nine points in four contests. Junior goaltender Marlene Boissonnault took over the starting spot in the net this season and has recorded a .913 save percentage and 2.36 goals against average.
