COLUMBIA, Mo. – Three members of the Wisconsin diving team qualified for finals in their respective events on the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on Tuesday.
Ashley Peterson led the way for the Badgers women on the 1-meter board, securing a 16th-place finish with a total score of 545.60 points after placing 12th in the preliminary round with a total of 285.40.
Hazel Hertting also qualified for finals on the 1-meter after placing 18th (263.75) in preliminaries. The sophomore held on to her 18th-place position during finals, posting a final score of 527.10.
Kevin Pomeroy was the lone UW representative to make finals for the men's 3-meter competition. Pomeroy placed 17th overall with 660.55 points after placing 16th during preliminaries (327.40).
Also competing for the Badgers were
Alexandra Hafey, who placed 23rd on the women's 1-meter (254.40), and
Andrew Pearce and
Max Reynolds, who placed 28th (251.45) and 31st (227.85), respectively, on the men's 3-meter.
The final day of competition at the Zone Diving Championships begins Wednesdsay with the men's 10-meter platform event at 11 a.m. (CT). The women's platform event will follow at 3:45 p.m.
