MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team (1-1-2) continues conference play this weekend against Northwestern (1-4-0). Wednesday's match will be played at 8:30 p.m. (CT) on the Badger's home turf at the McClimon Soccer Complex. The game will also be available to fans on the Big Ten network. 1. NORTHWESTERN'S KNOCKING: Wisconsin welcomes Northwestern to the pitch for the 45th meeting between the two programs. Besides a season-opening overtime win over Valparaiso, 2-1, the Wildcats have suffered four-straight losses. Their most recent loss came at the hands of Big Ten rival Ohio State, 1-0. Last season, the Badgers handed the Wildcats a 2-1 overtime victory in Evanston, Illinois thanks to a beautiful finish from midfielder Mike Catalano in the 92nd minute of play. The Wildcats went on to finish the season 6-11-1, solidifying a place in the middle of the conference.
2. B1G PLAY: The Badgers clinched their first victory of the season in front of their home crowd at McClimon Soccer Complex but were unsuccessful on the road against Michigan. The Badgers dropped their first conference game to the Maize and Blue, 2-1, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Wisconsin looks to bounce back in Big Ten play against the Wildcats.
3. MARK TO THE RESCUE: Senior Mark Segbers is tied for second in the Big Ten for an average of .50 assists per game. Segbers is already well on the way to six assists, his last season mark, after clinching two in the first two games alone.
4. 'MAZING MUELLER: Senior Chris Mueller ranks fourth in the Big Ten with an average of 3.5 shots per game. He has 14 total shots this season. Mueller is also tied for second in the Big Ten in assists on the year with two.
5. GETTING CATTY: Senior Mike Catalano is tied for second for goals in the Big Ten. He is just two shy of his season high of four goals from 2016.
