MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Wisconsin women's tennis (1-0) got off on the right foot in the spring season by defeating Marquette, 5-2, in its first dual match of the season Friday afternoon.
The Badgers took four out of six singles matches and grabbed the doubles point by winning two of three.

Kelsey Grambeau combined to pull out a 6-1 win over the duo of Milica Novakovic and Andrea Amortegui at the No. 2 spot. A default win at No. 3 doubles gave the Badgers the point. Senior

Keberle and Castellano started things off for Wisconsin both winning their matches. Keberle knocked off Tormos Sanchez, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles while Castellano came back to defeat Natalija Popovic, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot.
Pick handled her opponent, Isabella Franks, 6-3, 6-3, on court 5, while Zordani won by default in the sixth slot.
Rompf and Grambeau both dropped their matches in two sets.
Up next: Wisconsin stays in Milwaukee Friday night to face off against UW-Milwaukee in the second half of the double header.
