MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Just hours after a 5-2 season-opening victory over Marquette, the Wisconsin women's tennis team wrapped up a doubleheader sweep on Friday. The Badgers topped UW-Milwaukee, 5-0, to start the season 2-0.
Wisconsin managed to grab the doubles point versus Milwaukee, with the pair of senior
Kelsey Grambeau and freshman
Lexi Keberle starting it off with a 6-4 victory over Labina Petrovska and Anna Daniel Fuentes.
Sophomores
Michelle Linden and
Christina Zordani knocked off the duo of Agata Jurczak and Loren Nelson, 6-2, to clinch.
In singles play, Keberle moved to 2-0 in dual play with a tidy win over Petrovska, 6-2, 6-4, for the Badgers' first victory.
Grambeau knocked off Nelson, 6-2, 6-2, for Wisconsin's second victory. Linden defeated Nicole Clarke, 6-3, 6-3. Fellow sophomore Zordani handled Lucy Harper, 6-1, 6-3 for the Badgers' final singles victory.
UWM surrendered two spots in singles, leaving the matches unfinished.
