MADISON, Wis. — Winners of five of the last six, Wisconsin looks to move above .500 in the Big Ten with a road game against Nebraska on Tuesday night. The Badgers have won eight of 10 games against Nebraska since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011.

Up next, UW will play its third-straight road game when it travels to face No. 13 Purdue on Jan. 16. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. (CT) on either ESPN or ESPN2.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW: NEBRASKA

1. OFFENSE HEATING UP: Over the last six games, the Badgers' offense has been clicking, averaging 76.2 points per game and shooting 52% overall (40% from 3-point range). During the first 11 games, UW averaged just 66.1 points per game and shot 44% overall (33% from 3-point range).
2. HOME ON THE ROAD: In two-plus seasons under Greg Gard, Wisconsin is 11-9 in Big Ten road games, the third-highest win percentage of any team over that span. Overall, the Badgers are 26-14 (.650) in conference play under Gard, also third-best in the Big Ten.
3. GARD IN CONTROL: With a record of 51-26 (.662), Greg Gard owns the third-highest win percentage in school history (min. 60 games) behind Hall of Famers Bo Ryan (.737) and Walter Meanwell (.712). He has gone 26-13 (.667) in Big Ten play.
4. HAPP HAVING HIS WAY: All-American Ethan Happ is doing it all for the Badgers. He is the only major conference player averaging at least 16.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season. He's also the Big Ten's only player leading his team in points, rebounds and assists.
5. DAVISON DIALED IN: Averaging 11.9 points, guard Brad Davison leads all Big Ten freshmen in scoring. Over the last 20 years, Devin Harris, Alando Tucker and Ethan Happ are the only Badgers to average double-figure scoring in their freshman campaigns.

ALL-TIME vs. NEBRASKA

Tuesday's game will mark the 27th-ever meeting between Wisconsin and Nebraska in a series that began in 1904. The Badgers lead the all-time series, 14-12, having won eight of the 10 meetings since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011.

  • UW has won the last four regular season meetings, including a 70-69 overtime win in Lincoln last season
  • Over the last five meetings, the Badgers are a combined 96-for-136 at the free throw line, averaging 27.2 free throw attempts per game. The Huskers are averaging just 17.6 free throw attempts (61-88 FT) in those four meetings.
  • Nebraska has scored more than 55 points in just four of the 10 meetings with UW since joining the Big Ten. UW is 2-2 in such games.
  • In the 10 games since Nebraska joined the Big Ten, the Huskers have averaged a mere 55.9 points per game against the Badgers.
  • Eight current Badgers have played against Nebraska, led by Ethan Happ who is averaging 9.0 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game in three meetings.

LAST TIME OUT

RUTGERS 64, WISCONSIN 60
Jan. 5, 2018 | The RAC | New Brunswick, N.J.

  • Wisconsin's five-game win streak was snapped with a 64-60 loss at Rutgers last Friday. The game was tied, 53-53, with 2:00 left, but six-straight points from the Scarlet Knights put the Badgers in a hole from which they were unable to climb out of.
  • A total of four Badgers scored in double figures, led by 13 apiece from sophomore Brevin Pritzl and freshman Brad Davison (five assissts)
  • Junior Ethan Happ notched his sixth double-double of the season (26th of his career) with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four assists
  • Freshman Nate Reuvers also had 10 points, four rebounds and three blocks. Reuvers has now scored in double figures three times this season, all of which have come in Big Ten play.
  • Wisconsin shot 61.8% from inside the arc, but couldn't overcome a 2-for-13 effort from 3-point range and 14 turnovers. Rutgers, meanwhile, shot 5-for-8 from 3-point range and coughed up the ball just six times.
