The Badgers placed all of its scorers within the top-19 finishers, recording just 38 points to easily take the team title over Purdue, who finished second with 88 points, and Indiana, who finished third with 108 points.Â
Last weekend's victory also marked the eighth Big Ten cross country title won under the direction of Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mick Byrne. 2. ONE-TWO PUNCH: Morgan McDonald clinched his second Big Ten cross country title of his career after outkicking teammate Olli Hoare up the final stretch to the finish line. The 2016 Big Ten champion, McDonald finished the 8K race in 23 minutes, 26.4 seconds to take the crown for the second time. Hoare, the 2017 champion, finished just behind McDonald in 23:29.3. This marks the second-straight year that the Badgers have had their runners take both the first place and runner-up spots at the Big Ten Championships.Â
