MADISON, Wis. – If Friday's sweep of Rutgers was a statement win for Wisconsin, Sunday's 5-2 win over Maryland was validation.
 
The Wisconsin women's tennis team (8-7, 2-1 Big Ten) got down early, losing the doubles point, but ultimately battled back closed out a thriller over Maryland (6-7, 0-2). Freshman Lexi Keberle's personified the comeback, bouncing back to pull off a three-set win and clinch the match.
 
Junior Sara Castellano had a clutch three-set performance of her own, finishing moments before Keberle to help UW lock up its second-consecutive victory.

Setting the tone early for Wisconsin in singles play were senior Kelsey Grambeau and sophomore Michelle Linden.
 
Grambeau gave the Badgers their first point, defeating Katsiaryna Yemelyanenka, 6-2, 6-3. Linden followed suit, knocking off Saya Usui, 6-1, 6-4 in straight sets.
 
With a 2-1 Wisconsin lead, Maryland bounced back, winning the No. 3 singles slot to knot the contest up.
 
Maryland's first point came from doubles play, defeating Wisconsin's No. 1 and No. 2 slot, 6-2 and 6-1.
 
Up next: The Badgers continue Big Ten competition in West Lafayette, Indiana against Purdue on Friday, March 23. The match is set for 2 p.m. (CT).
