MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team will hit the road for the second weekend in a row, traveling to Iowa City, Iowa for a three-game series. The Badgers play the Hawkeyes on Friday at 5 p.m. (CT), Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m. Saturday's game will be live on the Big Ten Network.

1. BALANCED BADGERS: Eight Badgers recorded hits against the Buckeyes with Melanie Cross, Kelsey Jenkins, Taylor Johnson, Kelly Welsh and Brooke Wyderski collecting hits in two of UW's three games last weekend.

2. GABBY THE GREAT: Junior Gabby Scherle's bat was on fire Saturday, helping her record a career-high three hits in four at-bats. In her last four games, the left fielder has four hits, three walks, two runs and an RBI.

3. LAST TIME OUT: The Badgers went 1-2 in their first Big Ten road series at Ohio State. After leading for the majority of the game on Friday, OSU took control at the end of the game with a home run to take the first game 9-7. UW battled back on Saturday, winning 3-1 thanks to back-to-back homers from Wyderski and Johnson in the third inning. Sunday's game went Ohio State's way, as a grand slam helped them to a 7-0 victory to take the series.

4. STREAKS: Senior Kelsey Jenkins recorded a hit or a walk in all three games against the Buckeyes, extending her reached-base streak to 29 games. The Wisconsin record for consecutive games on base is 31, set by Jenkins last season. This weekend she will get a chance to raise that record.

5. SCOUTING IOWA: The Hawkeyes are 15-17 overall and 1-4 in conference play this season. Iowa has three ranked wins on the season, taking down No. 8 Baylor, No. 13 Arizona State and No. 17 Michigan. Last weekend they were swept by Maryland in their first conference road series. The Hawkeyes are led by junior Mallory Kilian and pitcher Allison Doocy. Kilian has recorded a team-high 26 hits, 17 runs, 14 walks, six doubles and four home runs while Doocy has a 9-5 record with a 1.49 ERA and 113 strikeouts this season.
