Badgers finish 12th at Schooner Fall Classic

Freshman Tracy Lee leads UW

Norman, OK. – The Wisconsin women's golf team finished in 12^th place at the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma over the weekend.

The Badgers had an impressive first round at the Classic Friday when senior Aya Johnson opened up the first round with a 5-under par round of 66 to put her in a tie for first place. Johnson's 66 was just one score off the school record for single round performances.

Despite the impressive start, Wisconsin struggled in their second round but had a bounce back final day Sunday when both freshman Tracy Lee (-1) and senior Tess Hackworthy (-1) went below par for the final round.

UW finished in 12^th place overall as a team with Lee leading the way with a top 50 finish.

Thoughts from Coach Oehrlien:
"It was good to see the team bounce back after a disappointing second round. Tess and Tracy were both under par in the final round which was great to see."

Up Next: The Badgers will travel across state lines to Medinah, Ill., for the Illini Women's Invitational, Oct. 8-9.
