MIAMI – Wrapping up Saturday competition at the FIU Tennis Complex, the Wisconsin women's tennis team was able to repeat with six of seven single victories. This time it was versus Iowa State, and UW grabbed one doubles victory against Florida International.
Senior
Sara Castellano flew by Ekaterina Grib, 6-2, 6-1 in her singles match, setting the tone for Wisconsin's Saturday. Freshman
Lexi Keberle also went by her opponent in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. Playing in the three spot, sophomore
Anna Makarova knocked off Ekaterina Repina in two sets, 6-2, 7-6. Junior
Melissa Pick handled Annabella Bonadonna, 6-3, 6-2 and sophomore
MaryAnn Rompf defeated Margarita Timakova, 7-5, 6-3.
Freshman
Ava Markham suffered Wisconsin's sole singles defeat, being beaten, 7-5, 6-3 by ISU's Regina Espindola.
In doubles competition it was the duo of Makarova and Zordani defeating an FIU pair, 7-5. Keberle and Markham were defeated 6-1 as was the duo of Pick and Rompf.
