Wisconsin to play in the Roberta Alison Fall Invite
MADISON, Wis. -- The Badger women's tennis team will continue their fall season in Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend as they prepare to compete in the Roberta Alison Fall Invite from Friday Nov. 1 to Sunday Nov. 3. Here are five things you need to know before tuning in:
1. RECAPPING ITA'S: Two weeks ago, the Badgers traveled to East Lansing to compete in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. Sophomore Antonela Stoica was the farthest advancing Badger making it to the third round of play before drooping her match to an opponent from Ohio State. In double's play, the duo of Stoica and Ava Markham advanced to the second round of play before being knocked out by a team from Michigan.
2. FALL GROWTH: Throughout the fall season, a Badger team that lost a lot of star power and brought in numerous new faces have begun ot gel and work together well. Moving into the second to last fall tournament, the Badgers want to continue this congruity and confidence to bring as much momentum into the spring season as possible.
3. SCOUTING THE FIELD: The tournament will include one other Big Ten school in Indiana and the remaining potential opponent include; Alabama, Lewis University, Western Michigan, UT Martin, South Alabama, Troy, Samford, DePaul, Ole Miss, UAB, Mississippi State, Tulane, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Clemson, South Florida, Air Force, East Carolina and Memphis.
4. A LOOK AHEAD: Following their trip to Tuscaloosa, the Badgers will travel to Florida State to finish of their fall season at the FSU All-Conference Showdown. The tournament will wrap up the Badger's season until they start their year in spring at Metroplex Mania in Dallas.Â
