MADISON Wis. -- Thanks to
Dani Rhodes' brace, the No. 13 Wisconsin women's soccer team remained undefeated in Big Ten Conference play after they overpowered No. 24 Michigan, 2-0, on Thursday night at the McClimon Soccer Complex.
Rhodes scored goals in the 17th and 61st minutes to lead the Badgers (8-2-1, 4-0-0) to first place in the Big Ten Conference after handing the Wolverines (8-3-1, 3-1-1) their first conference loss.
After a slow start, Rhodes, the Big Ten's active leading scorer, finished off
Lauren Rice's cross into the box to take a lead 1-0 against the Wolverines. In the first half, Badgers outshot Michigan 6-2, dominating on offense.
In the 61st minute, Rhodes added a second goal to the scoreboard, after receiving a pass from
Cameron Murtha in the box.
