Badgers head to Nassau
MADISON, WIS.- The Badgers are in Nassau to compete in the inaugural Bahamas Hoopfest over Thanksgiving weekend.
Here are five things to know as the tournament tips off.
1. Panthers Can't Hang: Wisconsin took down Eastern Illinois in their last match-up, the final score 63-55. Senior Suzanne Gilreath and sophomore Imani Lewis both scored 15 points in the game on Tuesday.Â
2. Cardinal Clash: Wisconsin will take on Ball State for their first match up on Friday at 6 p.m. (CT). The Cardinals are currently 4-2, most recently defeating Lehigh on Nov. 28. Junior Oshlynn Brown was named to the preseason All-Mid-American Conference Team.
3. They Meet Again: The Badgers' second opponent will be the No. 25 ranked Arkansas. The Razorbacks are currently 5-1, recording their first loss of the season to Cal on Nov. 24. Already this season Makayla Daniels was named SEC Freshman of the Week and Chelsea Dungee has been named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 Watch List as well as Preseason First Team All-SEC.
4. In the Know: Fans can listen to Friday's game on 1310 WIBA. Saturday's game will be broadcast on REWIND 92.1.
