Best season for Badgers since 1998-99
MADISON, WIS.- The end of the White Sands Intercollegiate on Nov. 3 saw the closing of the Badgers' fall season.Â
The team made some pretty remarkable statements over that last two months. Competing in five tournaments and one individual event, Wisconsin recorded its lowest fall season average since the 1998-99 season with a 291.73. Together as a team, three new record book entries were made, along with nine individual record book entries, and 19 individual career lows set or broken.
Badger Invitational:
Wisconsin hosted its annual Badger Invitational at University Ridge on Sept. 8-10. The team placed 11th out of 16 teams and shot a season low 18-hole score of 280 as junior Sam Anderson led the team with a ninth-place finish. It was at this tournament that Anderson carded a 36-hole score of 139 (-5) and a 54-hole score of 210 (-6), ranking among the top-20 all-time scores at UW. Both rounds also broke his career low scores which were previously 141 for 36 holes and 218 for 54 holes.
Also in this tournament, junior Tom Calbi tied his career low 18-hole score with a one-under 71, sophomore Cameron Frazier broke his career low 36-hole score with a 146 which was previously a 149 and freshman Sebastian Iqbal set his career low 18-hole score with a three-under-par 69. This tournament was also Jack Blair, Sebastian Iqbal and Coalter Smith's debut with the Badgers.Â

Bearcat Invitational:
The team's first of two trips to Cincinnati for the fall season was to participate in the University of Cincinnati's Bearcat Invitational on Sep. 30-Oct. 1 at the Cold Stream Country Club. The Badgers placed ninth out of 13 teams and were led by Iqbal. Tying for 29th place, he shot a four-over-par 217 and set both his 36-hole (144) and 54-hole (217) career lows.

Marquette Intercollegiate:
Keeping it in state, the team hopped over to Erin, Wisconsin, to compete in the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills on Oct. 6-8. Anderson led the team, finishing with a share of 19th place at two-over-par 218. The team finished in 12th place.Â

Musketeer Classic:
The second trip to Cincinnati saw success for the Badgers. Held at Maketewah Country Club on Oct. 21-22, the Badgers clinched a first-place finish at the Musketeer Classic.
Anderson led the Badgers once again, this time finishing in second place with a three-under-par score of 210, which tied his career low set at the Badger Invitational and broke his best 54-hole finish. His best finish had previously been set at the 2018 Pinetree Intercollegiate, where he tied for 20th. This round was also entered into the record book along with Anderson's second-place finish and the team's first-place finish.
Two other Badgers finished in the top 10 alongside Anderson. Smith finished in fifth, setting his career low 18-hole (68), 36-hole (139) and 54-hole (213) scores as well as claiming an entry in the record book with a 36-hole score of 139 (-3). Senior Pete Kuhl, competing as an individual, tied for eighth with a 214 (+1).
Freshman Jack Blair set a career low scores for 54-holes with 225 (+12).

White Sands Intercollegiate:
The final fall trip for the men's team took them to Nassau, Bahamas, to compete in the White Sands Intercollegiate at the Ocean Club on Paradise Island over the weekend of Nov. 1-3. The Badgers competed against four nationally ranked teams and finished in ninth with a crisp 857 (-7) and three players in the top 25. The team recorded its lowest 36- and 54-hole scores at 571 and 857, respectively. Both of those two scores were entered in the record book.
Redshirt junior Nick Robinson led the team from the start, breaking his career low 18-hole score by three strokes with a 66 (-6). This is the best round by a Badger since Jordan Hahn's 65 at the 2018 Fighting Irish Classic and the second best since 2015 when Matt Ross also shot a 66 at the NYX Invitational. Robinson continued to break records throughout the tournament, carding two more rounds under par (both a one-under-par 71) to finish with an eight-under 208. He broke his 36-hole low by three strokes and his 54-hole low by four strokes. All three of his rounds were entered in the record book.
Joining Robinson in the record book for this tournament was Barela. Finishing tied for 11th at six-under, his score of 210 can now be found under the 54-hole low score section.
Two other Badgers, Anderson and Smith, finished the tournament under par.

Following the close of the fall season and the White Sands Intercollegiate, Nick Robinson was named Big Ten Golfer of Week for the first time in his collegiate career.
Anderson currently leads the team with the most counted rounds (15/15) and the lowest scoring average (71.26). He is five-under versus par and has carded seven rounds under par, three rounds in the 60s.
Smith follows Anderson closely. He is second in rounds counted (13/15) with the second lowest scoring average (73.20) and two rounds in the 60s. Barela also has two rounds in the 60s and five under par with a scoring average almost equivalent to that of Smith's (73.26).

Musketeer Classic:
