MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin travels to Ohio State on Sunday for the regular-season finale looking to secure a double-bye in the Big Ten tournament. The Badgers have split their last four trips to Columbus.
A win would give UW 14 Big Ten wins for just the third time in school history, joining its 16-win seasons in 2008 and 2015.
1. RESUME BUILDING: The Badgers checked in at No. 15 in the March 8 NET rankings and No. 12 according to KenPom.com. Wisconsin is one of just 12 teams with eight Quadrant 1 wins. UW has played the eighth-toughest schedule in the NCAA (per KenPom.com).
2. POSTSEASON MARCH:Â The Badgers are positioning themselves for a return to the NCAA tournament. Wisconsin is one of just five schools to participate in 19 of the last 20 NCAA tournaments with trips to the Sweet 16 or better in four of the last five seasons, including two under head coach
Greg Gard.
3. 20/20 WINNING: Wisconsin has won 20 games for the 19th time in school history. This also marks the 15th time in the last 17 years, equaling Michigan State for the most 20-win seasons in the Big Ten over that span.
4. COMPETITIVE IN COLUMBUS:Â Wisconsin and Ohio State have split the last 10 meetings, which includes a split in the last four games at Value City Arena. UW claimed wins in Columbus in 2012 and 2015, while the Buckeyes held serve at home in 2013 and 2017, the most recent meeting in Columbus.
5. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES:Â Wisconsin has increased its Big Ten wins total by six games this season, going from 7-11 to 13-6. The Badgers have equaled Iowa for the biggest improvement in the conference.
