MADISON, Wis. – The No. 25 Wisconsin softball team will be back in action at home this weekend, hosting Iowa in a three-game conference series. Game one is set for Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday's game will be played at 1 p.m. and the series will conclude on Sunday at 3 p.m. Fans that are unable to make it out to Goodman Diamond can catch Sunday's game live on the Big Ten Network.
 
1. GET OUT THE BROOMS: The Badgers went a perfect 5-0 last week, including a 3-0 series sweep of Penn State. UW topped the Nittany Lions 13-0, 3-2 and 12-3 with two run-rule victories. Wisconsin outhit PSU 29-7.
 
2. ANOTHER WEEK, ANOTHER AWARD: Junior Kayla Konwent earned Co-Big Ten Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. It marks her second Player of the Week title of the season. Konwent went off in UW's five games last week with six runs, twelve hits, eight RBI and three home runs. In just the three games at Penn State, Konwent had a .833 batting average and on-base percentage in addition to a 1.750 slugging percentage.
 
3. BEST IN THE B1G: Wisconsin leads its conference in many statistical categories, including double plays per game (0.56), earned run average (1.50), home runs per game (1.31), scoring (6.81) and win/loss percentage (.844). Konwent is pacing the conference in batting average (.490), hits (48), home runs (11), on base percentage (.580), slugging percentage (.969) and total bases (95). Taylor Johnson is tied for fist in the conference with 1.03 runs per game.
 
4. MOJO FROM LO: Sophomore Lauren Foster had a very successful go of things last week. She tallied a .400 average with six hits, seven RBI, three doubles, three doubles and two runs. Foster also notched a stolen base and led the Badgers with 12 assists.
 
5. SCOUTING IOWA: Under the leadership of new head coach Renee Gillispie, the Hawkeyes are 15-15 overall this season and are 1-4 in conference play. Junior Allison Doocy leads Iowa in the circle with a 1.75 ERA and 128 strikeouts. At the plate junior Donirae Mayhew is one of the Hawkeye's best batters. She has a .310 average with team-best 26 hits, 16 RBI, and three home runs.
