Johnson leads UW with two RBI
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team could not overcome a flurry of Nebraska hits Friday night, falling 5-3 in the series opener at Goodman Diamond.

After giving up two runs in the top of the first inning, the Badgers (36-11 overall, 13-8 B1G) fought back with a run in the bottom of the inning. Junior Kayla Konwent reached base in the first at-bat after being hit by a Nebraska (21-28, 9-12) pitch. Her pinch runner Tyra Turner stole second base before advancing to third on a Taylor Johnson sacrifice hit. Turner would score off of a Lauren Foster bunt single.

The Badgers took the lead in the second inning when Johnson struck again with a double down the left-field line. Both Sydney Lawson and Konwent scored to give Wisconsin a 3-2 advantage.

After three scoreless innings, Nebraska rallied with two runs in the top of the sixth frame to take the lead back from the Badgers. A Huskers home run in the top of the seventh sealed Nebraska's 5-3 advantage.
