MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin softball team begins postseason play with the Big Ten Tournament this weekend in Bloomington, Indiana. The Badgers earned the No. 5 seed and will play No. 12 Iowa in the first round on Thursday at 10 a.m. (CT). Each of the games will air live on the Big Ten Network.
1. REGULAR SEASON RECAP: The Badgers went 38-11 overall and 15-8 in the Big Ten during the regular season to finish fifth in the conference. It marks UW's highest Big Ten finish since 2014 when that squad went 15-7 to finish fourth. Wisconsin earned big preseason wins against No. 9 Texas and No. 15 Arizona State before taking conference series over Penn State, Iowa, Indiana, Purdue and Nebraska.
2. BEST IN THE B1G: Junior
Kayla Konwent finished the regular atop the Big Ten leader boards in batting average (.479), slugging percentage (.918) and on base percentage (.600). The super slugger also finished third nationally in batting average.

4. WE'VE GOT HISTORY: UW's only Big Ten Tournament title came back in 2013 when it went a perfect 3-0 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Badgers took down Northwestern, No. 6 Michigan and Minnesota en route to the school's first B1G crown.
5. SCOUTING IOWA: The Hawkeyes are 19-31 overall and 5-18 in conference play. During regular-season play, Wisconsin swept Iowa with 8-0, 9-1 and 4-2 wins at Goodman Diamond. Donirae Mayhew paces Iowa with a .264 batting average, 34 hits and five home runs. Pitcher Allison Doocy can upset any opponent and holds a 2.73 ERA with 192 strikeouts on the season.
