MADISON, Wis. - The ninth-ranked Badgers head to Chicago this weekend to compete in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. The men are coming off of a win against DePaul at the Badger Classic on Sept. 6 and will look to run away with another win this weekend. The men's 8000-meter race will start at 11:30 a.m. following the women's race.

1. COMING OFF A WIN: Wisconsin won the Badger Classic on Sept. 6 with three runners crossing the finish line simultaneously, which aided in their win over DePaul. The three were Zack Snider, Andrew Schilling, and Conor Perreault, who finished the 8,000-meter race in an impressive 25 minutes, 38.6 seconds to finish 1-2-3.
2. SAVING UP: Some of the team's top runners such as Olli Hoare, Benjamin Eidenschink, and Olin Hacker will not be competing this weekend. The Badgers will run nine athletes this weekend, including Snider, Schilling and Perrault, the top-three finishers from the Badgers Classic. Others runners competing are Ansel Fellman, Kavanaugh FitzPatrick and Austin Rendon, who ran at the Badger Classic.
3. FIRST FOR A FEW: Seth Hirsch, Noah Jacobs, and Derick Peters will be competing for the first time this season as they didn't compete at Badger Classic. Hirsch and Jacobs were Academic All-Big Ten honorees in 2018-19. Peters competed at Badger Classic last year and placed third for Wisconsin with an 8K time of 25:39.1.
4. COACHES' POLL/REGION RANKINGS AFTER WEEK TWO: The USTFCCCA released the national coaches' poll for week one which placed Wisconsin at No. 9. The regional rankings were also released for week two, which places the Badgers at No. 1 in the Great Lakes region.
5. ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The Badgers head to South Bend, Indiana, next week to compete in the Joe Piane Invitational hosted by the University of Notre Dame on Oct. 4.
